Residential

The Walnuts School has a purpose built 31-bedded residential facility intended to offer boys and girls aged 4 – 19 years, the opportunity to develop personal independence skills.

We are inspected by Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) against the CYP’s Homes National Minimum Standards and CYP’s Home Regulations.  Ofsted can be contacted in relation to any concerns and complaints not settled locally.  Ofsted can be contacted on 08456 404040.

The Walnuts School has recently been inspected by Ofsted as a Residential Special School and received a good rating overall, with some outstanding features in Enjoying and Achieving.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES

Accommodation consists of a Primary and Secondary residential provision` that contain similar facilities.  The Walnuts School provides:

· Study Rooms

· Kitchenette

· Specialist Bathrooms

· 4 Staff Bedrooms

· Independent Flat

· Quiet Rooms

· Nurse Stations for Night Waking Staff

· Central Office/Admin Area

· Enclosed Patio Area

· Large enclosed playground

We also use specialist rooms within the main school.
